Surrounding oneself with beauty and inspiration is an easy way to brighten each day. Whether it be on display or stashed away in a journal, keeping a collection of pictures, quotes, and souvenirs at your fingertips is bound to keep you inspired! I love displaying an inspiration board in my workspace to spark creativity and remind me of all the beautiful things that make my heart sing. These are a few ideas to help you create a dreamy inspiration board of your own:
Creating a Dreamy Inspiration Board:
1. Colors
Which colors do you love the most? Consider what certain color schemes may remind you of. For example, if you love going to the beach, you may want to use mostly blue hues on your inspiration board. I chose a pastel color scheme with an emphasis on pink because it reminds me of my favorite flower – roses!
2. Photographs
Compile photographs that inspire you. Start by referencing your Pinterest boards, bookmarked Instagram posts, and favorite print magazines. After collecting these photos, organize them according to the color scheme you chose. I browsed through my old collection of Teen Vogue magazines and was so excited to find pastel Miss Dior ads to display!
3. Beautiful Souls
Who do you look up to? Photos of people who inspire you make a wonderful addition to your inspiration board. I couldn’t help but to include Audrey Hepburn on mine.
4. Words
Just like you compiled your favorite photographs, compile a list of your favorite quotes and words. If you aren’t able to find these in the color scheme you chose, it is fairly easy to make your own using tools like Canva or PicMonkey. The “Over” app is also a great option!
5. Memories
Think about your fondest memories. Did you have a birthday that was particularly special or have you gone to a concert you’ll never forget? Souvenirs like birthday cards or ticket stubs are perfect for accenting your inspiration board and will remind you of your most cherished moments ❤️
6. Sparkle
Adding a little shine and depth to your inspiration board is a beautiful way to add interest. I used vintage earrings as thumbtacks (and even put one on Audrey! ✨)
How do you stay inspired?
